The "Project" Day 2

Not to update each workout, but with Day 2 of the "project" down, we'll call it Operation Fitness, I have the feeling I've gone from "squishy" to green jell-o. When starting the workout for the day, I was very pumped and very proud of myself, I had all the confidence in the world (at least the dream of confidence). But, it should have sent pretty little red flags up when the warm-up to the routine had my heart pounding and little pools of sweat gather under my hair line... Doesn't that freak you out? Well, after one hour of plyometrics (aka jump training) I no longer have the dream of confidence, I have all the confidence in the world... (at least until I have to get up off my couch and try to walk upstairs to my bed... on second thought, this is an extremely comfortable couch... yup, it'll do, good night.)

The Start of a "Project"

You know when you have a goal in mind or at least a desired outcome, the thought of "I can't do it or I'm not strong enough" always either stops you from starting or hinders your progress. I know this sounds like a serious start to this post, but today, is:
Day 1 of P90X!

I did it! I've wanted to start exercising since having the babies because let's face it, 10 weeks on bed rest and recovering from twins... has left me, let's just say "squishy."

So I've started cycling indoors so I can go on rides with Matthew and today was the first day of a new work out routine. You know when it just feels good to get your muscles moving and your heart rate pumping and you think "This is cake, I can do this" and so you push yourself a little harder than you should and by the end of the workout... you know the next day you are going to be in pain, where the fear of sneezing is a serious concern... but nevertheless... you begin.
1 day down, 89 to go!
Wish me luck!

P.S. Happy Birthday Matthew!!!

10 Year Anniversary!

Wow I cannot believe it's been 10 years!!! Matthew and I went to Park City for our anniversary (oh there was grand ideas of a trip to Chicago for a 3 days Cubs series, a flight to San Diego or cruise to Mexico... but with have 7 week old twins... you understand) So our grand ideas turned into a play day in Park City. The LittleField's went to Grandma Field's for the day and my sweetie and I went for a Day of Fun!

Matthew surprised me with a couples massage first thing before our venture out, and can I say, after 10 week of bed rest, 7 weeks of sleepless nights, man, was that needed!!!

We drove to Park City through Provo Canyon, and I was almost laughing at myself seeing all the construction and road changes through the canyon, I was reminiscing about how different it looked from when we were growing up. Boy do I feel old.

We went to lunch at the yummy Baja Cantina at the base of Park City Mountain Resort and then we rode the Alpine Slide and the Alpine Coaster. Seriously, we felt like little kids. It was so much fun!!
Matthew took this picture as we were making our way up the mountain. The little black car at the top is Cindi.
Riding up to the top. So fun, the coaster goes through the trees, it's beautiful! The sun was out, slight breeze, I'm not ashamed to say, I rolled up my sleeves and capris and caught some rays...
After we played on the mountain, we went to the outlets and boy did we take advantage of the "Back to School" sales they were trying to clear out. It was so quiet, since most of Utah is back in school.
Way too much fun!

All summer we knew we'd have a few hours away from the kids to celebrate and we teased that our grand plans would go from dreams of a day game at Wrigley to the Taco Bell drive through. So as we pulled into Spanish Fork, with a van full of kids, my sweet husband surprised me and drove through Taco Bell and I completely enjoyed a Burrito Supreme for our 10 year anniversary... good times!

Laundry Day

Well today wasn't the most productive day, but we did get many, many loads of laundry washed, folded and put away. Talmage played peek-a-boo while watching mommy fold laundry on the bed. Hey, you have to have some fun after working so hard, right?
Daddy helped do laundry too. Look what he found in the wash!

Play Time

Tummy time! Kirtlyn is learning to tolerate tummy time, Talmage loves it. It's so cute watching them get stronger and stronger every day. They are growing and changing by the minute!
Kirtlyn found a new binki...
The babies enjoying the bouncers. Preston likes to turn on the music for them and the "bumpies" to help keep the babies happy.
But... if the babies aren't going to be in the bouncers, Preston and Garrett will make sure some one enjoys them... even if it is Buzz and Woody Build-A-Bears. I had to laugh coming downstairs this morning and seeing this.
Talmage saying hi. He is getting bigger, slowly but surely. I can tell he's starting to recognize me and I swear he smiles at his Momma! He is truly the sweetest baby, he makes me smile all day.
'Lil Miss, bright eyes and all! I could just eat her up. She's a sweet baby too, a little more "vocal", if you will, but truly a sweet little thing.
Oh these sweet babies we have been blessed with.

Truly, they are the pride of their father, and the ultimate joy of their mother.

Oh no, I just heard both of them creating mini-earthquakes, that's my queue.

Lack of Sleep

What do you get done during the day? House cleaning, laundry, errands, bills, cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner, baths for kids, night time stories and tucking the little ones in. Sounds like the typical day right? For the most part, give or take a few items, add your own as you see fit.

I am sitting on the floor of my living room with two cute little infants on the blanket staring around, making those cute little baby sounds and thinking about this day kind of caught my attention... What did I do today? Umm.....

Last night was one of the longest nights we've had yet. The effect of the lack of sleep, oh so quickly catches up with you when by noon you realize: I'm not dressed, the babies are fed, the kids had a pop tart for breakfast and you're sending them to a neighbors so you can get a nap and feed the babies again. Yup, by 4:30 I'm thinking, get dinner started, feed the babies, the laundry can wait till tomorrow, feed the babies again, and at least pull your "desperately in need of a washing" hair back one more day and get your self moving already! and feed the babies again.

Well, it's not 8:30, the kids are fed and getting ready for bed, the babies are fed and we're desperately attempting to keep them up a little longer before bedtime (maybe they'll sleep a little better through the night tonight) and finally there is a welcome peace and calm in the house. OK, I can live with that.

Oh the many sounds...

A baby can make...

Crying baby (that's a given)
Squeaking baby (ok this one too)
Baby Jaguar
Old grandpa-man coughing fit
Young teenager belches
Full adult man-size belch
A baby bleating lamb
A little 8 year-old girl throwing a tizzy fit
Alarm clock
Mice size sneezes
Daddy size sneezes
Barking puppy dog
"It's just air"
Old man grunts (you know what I'm talking about)

Due to twins... Dolby Surround Sound Stereo of:
- Say... a party of 100 plus guests
- Who can call to mommy the loudest
- Who can make daddy run in the room the fastest
- Competition of "Size Doesn't Matter, I'm Still Louder!"

But in the end... You gotta love 'em!

The energy is returning...

Maybe... maybe not.
Matthew complained that all the pictures of him are of him sleeping.
Well... when you're asleep and I have the camera, what are you gonna do about it?

Today is Monday and after a fun weekend, I finally felt like I had some energy to start taking care of my house again. Matthew has been helping do all the house cleaning, cooking and shopping while I was on bed rest and today I finally felt like I had some energy back. It was so nice... but then again, I did get a lot of reading done on bed rest, dang it!

Some fun happenings:

Talmage actual size: my lap.
I know this picture is a little blurry, but this is the comparison of baby Talmage to Uncle Steve's foot.
Hmm... a little similar in size huh?
Uncle Cameron holding both little Orange bundles.

As I sit here blogging about the recent events of the last few days, with my little ones on a blanket on my bed staring at who-knows-what, looking at each other, giving each other high-fives, and squeaking those little baby squeaks, I have to say I am truly blessed. The ups and downs Matthew and I have gone through for almost 10 years to get these little blessings from heaven here, has truly humbled and amazed me. The love and support from family and friends has given us strength, patience and the determination to not give up, and it has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. I find myself saying a little prayer of thanks all through out the day as I take care of 4 precious gifts and feel completely undeserving, but eager to take on the challenge and thrill that each new day has to offer.

One Month Old!!

I cannot believe the babies are one month old already! I can't believe they have been home for two weeks! It's amazing how time flies. As I'm getting into the routine of 4 kids and newborns at home again, I am learning new things: patience, patience, patience.

Are we having fun yet? Yes.
Are we getting any sleep? No.
Are we loving every minute of it? YES!!

This is the fun we get to have everyday!
What good big brothers!
Family time! Grandma and Grandpa adoring baby Kirtlyn.
This is how you soothe two fussy babies.
Daddy doesn't go too far from his little girl when he gets home, even if it's taking a nap together.
Bath time!
At the end of the day, this is what it's all about. Sweet, precious babies.
There is always room in your heart for more love and more babies.
